Hi guys,
Looking to get a Freelander (more than likely a 1st gen) and Parkers guide state an average of 37 mpg for a 2.0Tdi, which seems good for a 4x4.

Could we have a thread maybe where you state what model and engine you have, with town and country mpg if you know it? Might be handy for any other newbies browsing here.

Many thanks for your help!

It's been done to death have a search. Yes around late 30 or on a run early 40s
You can get less or more depending how you drive and how much you fiddle with the mechanics

For example, I have a remapped TD4 auto which the overall average is 32mpg. I can get over 42mpg on a long run at 60mph, about 10-20mpg off-road and around South London on very short trips about 30mpg.

With the aerodynamics of a barn door, over 60mph cruising knocks the economy for 6. A lifted Freelander will do even less. Oh, mine is. :D so a regular one will do more.

I have a 2002 td4 and travelling 19 miles to work through combination 30/60mph zones and I'm getting 38mpg.

I have a 2006 TD4 and I get between 450 and 500 miles to a tank of diesel.

Never worked out what that is in mpg.

Mines about the same - slightly better since the disconnection of EGR valve (whatever that works out to).
