I have a 55plate Freelander when car is running every so often all the light on the dash and even the headlights and brake lights start flickering it lasts around 5-10 seconds and even when driving it dose it. I've checked all earths they seem ok. Phoned landrover up and they haven't hered of it.

I was thinking the earth but seems ok. It's now started when I start it up and put my foot on the brake pedal it dose it. I've checked all bulbs there fine.

I've had a new alternator as landrover told me that £170 and that didn't solve it. :( not sure on the battrey it looks alright. And fits where it should be.

if it only does it when you put your foot on the brake pedal then you have a earthing problem .,have at the rear lights as that is where your problem could be .hope this helps

Thanks I'll have a look on the back lights make sure everything looks ok. Apart from that I'll have to get a auto electrician out.

No I only bought it 2 months ago and had nothing but problems with it. It's still under warranty but the garage dosnt no what's up with it aswell.

The brake bulbs should be twin filament. It's quite common for people to force single filament bulbs in. This shorts out two circuits giving weird faults when brakes or sidelights are used. It's worth checking as it's easy to do and I've known lots of garages to not pick up on it!
