Hi guys,

Anyone recommend a good place to ket a remote locking key fob for my freelander coded?

I drove off in my wifes car the other day, leaving the keys for my freelander on the roof of it.. Needless to say, 3 miles down the road, whilst doing about 65 mph, my bloody keys flew off her roof and landed in the middle of the bypass... Cue about 25 cars running over them!! Grrrr:mad:

Needless to say the fob was muller'd :( The key itself was still ok tho :)

Anyhow, a guy 100 yards from my house supplies and codes them.. I explained what happened and he said £110 for a new fob and coded to my car.. Or £50 if i had a blank fob for him to code..

I rang up Stratstone land rover in Swansea just to get a comparason on price and they wanted double that amount

Anyway, long story short i bought a brand new uncoded identical part numbered fob off ebay for £11 :D

Took it to the guy to code it but literally told me "**** off - i aint coding nothing youve bought off ebay - new or not"

So, anyone recommend somewhere for me to get it coded??? And does anyone know if im able to by a more modern key (possibly of FL2) with the buttons integrated into the key rather than having a fob thats seperate? I wouldnt mind parting with £100 if i got the more modern key in the bargain??

i need a new key & fob as mine only came with one.
will it be possible to use this one if it is reprogramed & new blade fitted

sorry to reopen this thread but has anyone put some light on using a disco key reprogramed & new blade on a freelander as it would save having a seperate key & fob
