New to this forum lark so please bear with me.
The IRD gave up the ghost on our 1998 freelander, got the dreaded metallic rumbleing noise, The IRD was replace with a low milage secondhand one and a new Viscous unit. On a road test got exactly the same noise and also the same pitch, Could it be the bearings in the gearbox were the IRD bolts to the gearbox.
Any help appreciated
