Hi folks. Just got a 2000 TD4 a few weeks ago and yesterday had to remove dash to replace 2 of the bulbs behind. No big deal, few screws, 2 big multi plugs, turn around change bulbs put back again. Then....this morning the dash is switching itself on/off constantly when running - ie fuel gauge on/off and orange light comes on with it - same with temp gauge and rev counter - digi mileage display does the sam - no other lights except occassional SRS light.
ANYONE got a clue whats going on here? better still - how to fix it?

Sounds like one of the plugs not in properly. I think from memory they are all colour coded plugs so worth a check make sure they are in right place. But pretty sure they are idiot proof ones

Hi folks - obviously did a search on web and forum before posting.....
Wires cannot be mixed up only 2 large multiplugs at back of dash, or plugged in wrong - all pins are fin on the dash and the plugs.
Guess nobodys seen this before then? I never have

There was a guy on here who had an accident with some lemonade - it spilled over and into the dash ... he had a X reg td4 - caused all sorts of probs...try checking the multiplugs for any sticky residue ....you never know :)

Closure to this one - when the dash was unplugged and reconnected it would flash the dash/needles on/off every time it was driven for nearly 2 weeks - then stopped! no reason whatsoever but sorted itself out.....
