freelander td4 2003
I need help i keep loosing my clutch the pedal would go to the floor and not come back up
checked under the engine and there was clutch fluid on the floor so thats pointing to the slave.
Anyway never done a 4x4 clutch before and just wondering if there is anyone out there who could talk me through the fitment of my slave cylinder as i understand it inside the box and have been told it a very big bad job.
any help would be great

I was quoted from £450 to £650 most garages didn't want to know, the problem for the DIY is the weight of both gearboxes.

Make sure that everything is inspected carefully whilst the gearbox is out and anything suspect is changed for good quality parts.

not got round to it yet not been well
should all be ok
i have been told that the clutch has only just been changed by last owner
so should only need slave changed
but i will have a good look around anyway

sorted it now very big job had to drop sub frame ird box and gearbox
took just under a day to do
Good job Ejay. I was reading through this thread and thinking does he know he's got to break the engine from the gearbox to change the slave on a TD4? You do now and thats impressive work in under a day. Well done.
