Hi everyone,
new to this crack.I have an 04 freelander sport td4.sorted a couple of problems with the engine but one problem I cannot get the better of.the back door window will not move no matter what I do.have changed door lock, back wiring loom from jeep I know is working.all fuses and relays working.beeps when I try to let down.it is down a fraction so I can still open the door.window will go down when wired to other jeep but will not work on its own.have seen on the website that I could reset the window but I can't disarm the alarm because I don't have a fob just a key.any ideas would be greatly appreciate as I can't lock jeep without alarm going off

You can reset the rear window without the fob. The alarm has nothing to do with the process.
Just disconnect the battery for 10 seconds, then reconnecte it (car unlocked)
The rear window will go all the way down.
To recalibrate the window. Switch the ignition on and push the window UP button until there's a chime. When the chimes finish, the window is calibrated.

Oh and a Freelander is a Land Rover, not a Jeep ;)

Sorry, I knew I shouldn't of called it a jeep after I posted. Thank you for your reply.just doing it this way doesn't seem to work for me.I have changed just about everything I can think of and nothing it still gives the four beeps when I press the button. The wiper came on the last time but I never pressed the wiper button and it wouldn't stop until I took out the keys.odd one but just trying my patience.thanks again for reply

What happens when you reconnect the battery?

There are a few items that can go wrong with the window control system. The motor, fuses, wiring, relay and the CCU. Follow the wiring diagram to check these.

When I reattach the battery nothing happens.when I press the window down button I get the four beeps.the other day when I did it the rear wiper started working.(it never worked before).the relay at the back panel will click in and out, have also changed to a known working one and the same but when you put a amp meter to the window motor it reads no power.the wire loom is not damaged.I even changed that.I reversed another freelander up to mine and plugged it's connections into my motor and it worked.windows up and down.changed over wiring and relays from this freelander but it still won't work

Have you tried taking the motor cover off, then try and spin the motor armature buy hand a little, just to get the window into a different position, the mechanism can get its knickers in a twist sometimes, There are sensors inside the motor housing, ive found this cures that problem...

About the only thing I haven't tried, is it an awkward job or what is involved.thanks for your help this really is a great site

If you have powered the window from another FL and it works, then the problem is in your FL wiring or control circuit. The CCU is what controls the rear window, via relays and sensors.
If you have no power at the window motor. Have you checked fuse 31? This feeds the purple/ brown (PN) to the window relay, which is the main power feed.

The relays are fine plus I changed them with the other fl to make sure.fuses all good aswell.you can hear the relay clicking when you press the window up button plus I changed the rear wiring loom.I will try and take off the cover off the motor and move it manually when I get time.thanks for your info and time.would the ccu still be faulty even if you can hear the relay clicking, plus where is the ccu
