hi all are work freelander 2 has just come up with a strange fault.
unlock the vehicle (with remote) then 45 seconds later it locks itself even tho the key is laying on the table in front of us .
the night before the inertia lights would not go out, untill you remote lock it.

Try unlocking the car then open and close the drivers door and see if it still does it. Some cars have the feature to autolock if no door opened to guard against accidental unlocking. Normally though the car 'waits' 2 minutes, not 45 sec.

Yes will relock if car isn't accessed after unlocking

So that confirms it as a feature rather than a fault. Can be coded out of the car if you find it too annoying by a dealer or somebody with a suitable diagnostic tool.
