Hi all, new to the site and looking for any information that may help. Ibhave a freelander 2 2.2td4 it's a 2006 plate and is causing me a little bit of a headache.
So history so far, a few weeks back went out for dinner, went to start the engine and it just cranked over, when we parked there was quatre of a tank of fuel but the gauge was now reading empty, put 5 litrs of diesel in cranked for about 30 seconds and she fired up and carried on going. No problems until yesterday when same thing happened only this time she started without puttingnfuel in again.
Got about 1 mile down the road and lost all power engine cut out.
Had her towed back home and started to have a look, have since put 10 litres of fuel in just incase again fuel gauge reading in between quatre and half full but still not firing. No warnings on dash, used a decent code reader and no active faults in system.
One thing I have noticed is when I remove the fuel supply line to the fuel filter in the engine bay and turn the ignition on there is no fuel being delivered to the filter. Have checked fuses for low pressure pump, all seem to be ok,
Does anyone know which relay is for the low pressure pump and is she fitted with an inertia switch.
Also am I correct in assuming the low pressure pump is behind the rear wheel arch panel drivers side. I'm assuming the low pressure pump has failed as I cannot hear any pump noises when the ignition is switched on either.
Any help would be much appreciated
James

Hi again, so tonight I primed the fuel system and got fuel into the filter and fuel lines, unfortunately I've noticed when cranking with all the injectors loosened for bleeding the fuel and air pockets are not moving along the visable pipes, I removed the high pressure outlet pipe and still getting no fuel come through. High pressure pump is now removed, drive key is all still intact but when you turn the pump by hand there doesn't seem to be a great deal of suction, is that normal or should it be pulling down on my finger when I cover the port also on the outlet side doesnt seem to be trying to push my finger off the port, would I be correct in assuming the pump has had its last days
