Hello to all, this is my first thread on this forum- hope all goes well.
Last year i bought a second hand '09 freelander 2 td4.e The cars great but since i got it (from a main dealer) its had an intermittent fault of a yellow fault triangle on the dash & audible bleeper alarming on start up 7 then a message of special programs deactivated. As stated its only intermittent, but nevertheless the main dealer have fitted a new battery, and said it could be charging problem. The cars still under warranty, but as its due out of warranty shortly i decided enough is enough. The latest is that after the car being in the dealership for a week, they now suspect the ECU is faulty. Cant believe it, but theyve fitted another ecu from a similar car and asked me to try it out for 3 weeks to see if the fault clears. If the fault clears, they will put a warranty claim into LR for a new ECU. After 3 weeks there has been no recurrence of the fault, & the car goes back to the dealership next week for a new ecu top be fitted. Im a suspicious bu!!@r & i want to confirm that a new one gets fitted. Just wondered if any boffins out there can tell me the location of the ecu, so i can mark it & ensure a new one gets fitted? Any info Appreciated - Bartdog1>>
