Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 - Battery Type

Sorry to ask a REALLY dumb question.
I am away from my car at the moment - at work.
I am going to ask my wife to pick up a battery for me as my battery (Land Rover Branded Battery in my 07 FL2 HSE - so I ma guessing at the oldest its 10 years old , at the newest 6 years old) - has died 2 in a week and the Alternator is OK (Charging at 14.5v)

Only issue is: Book says it's: Lucas 096 or a Lucas 111 - can someone tell me which it is please?

The difference is the length and Amp Hr capacity. The 110 is 315mm long, the 096 is 278mm long.
I believe that the larger battery is used, where stop/start is fitted, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Cool thanks - I just spoke to EXIDE who make the battery (Land Rover Branded) and they say that they ONLY supply batteries for LAND ROVERS when they are new. Land Rover do NOT replace batteries with LR branded batteries - which ,means this is 10 years old! - I'll look in the site thanks (It's not a stop start.)

The only heat stamped date code I can see is 1306 - but Exide Lady says there are no date codes on batteries. (Odd)

Date code 1306 will be week 13 of 2006. That's about right for a modern battery charging system. The 096 is also fitted to the FL1 TD4, so LR will have had them in stock, long before the FL2 was released.

No wonder its died then. I shall doff my cap to it.

My D3 battery died at 10 years 7 months and the mother in law's V6 FL1 had its first replacement battery at 13 years old. Modern charging systems and modern batteries do last a considerable time now.
