The big appeal of Freelander as always been the dog friendly window at the rear and the dirt stays there with the dogs
Now time as come to move on the the Freelander 2 ( reluctantly)
Could the good people please give me their honest appraisal good and bad of living with dogs on a daily basis With the Freelander 2
apparently it’s not appropriate to do a test drive with 3 border collies in the boot !

Two giant schnauzers fit in but they have to get on. As one got older, I tipped the rear seat bases forward and put his bed across so that he didn’t have to jump up and down as high.

The FL2 boot is 50% larger than the FL1 boot, so there's more space for dogs.
The boot floor is quite a bit higher than the FL1 boot, so dogs need to jump up higher to get in. The rear bumper is also susceptible to scratches from claws, which will devalue the vehicle a bit, but the boot floor can be turned over to reveal a washable plastic surface, which is better than getting the carpet all muddy.

50% that’s a lot
They are all fit and healthy Border collies so getting them in is not a problem

Not necessarily - when you consider how small the boot is in an F1.
Unfortunately the boot capacity isn't measured the same between FL1 and FL2.
The FL1 boot capacity seems to be measured below the parcel shelf. The FL2 capacity is measured to the roof line, so it's difficult to compare directly with figures alone.
The FL1 boot is 354 litres, compared to the FL2 capacity of 755, but like I said, the figures aren't a direct comparison.
However having had both vehicles side be side, I can say with absolute confidence that the FL2 boot is considerably larger than the FL1 boot.
