Hello everyone, have joined this forum as am in desperate need of some help!.........

I have a 2005 commercial td4 freelander. After owning it for about a month and using on a daily basis to run my gardening business, we were returning from a trip to Wales and about 10 miles from home it started to lose power, the only way to keep it going was to drop down a gear and floor it but the revs kept dying. We managed to get home and looked at various forums and came up with the possibility that it was an issue with the maf sensor. Took it over to my mechanic the following day who ran a diagnostic check and came up with no issues but he disconnected the maf sensor and sure enough the problem was cleared. We therefore assumed a faulty maf. He ordered the part and fitted it for me a couple of days later and immediately the issue returned. He removed the new maf and put the old one back on but disconnected it again. He then ordered a map sensor and we tried that, again it didnt work. We have changed the air filter, the fuel filter and the fuel pump. Initially after changing the fuel filter and reconnecting the maf sensor everything was fine, it ran perfectly and was fine for the last 6 weeks. However, today, the same fault came back, however, when driving at lower than 1800 revs the fault does not occur. Took it back to my mechanic, he ran the diagnostics and the read out showed drop of air flow and fuel rail whilst revving through test. He intends to talk to a mate of his who knows land rovers and seen what he can find but any help would be really appreciated. I should also mention that the egr valve is already blanked off so it's not that.

I don't have a bottomless pit of funds for this so would appreciate any help from anyone who might have encountered this.

Cheers, Paul
