I have tried looking but can’t find a precise answer, I’m looking at replacing my master cylinder now from research there appears to be a couple of different types of ends that connect to the slave end ?! now my fear is that if I get the one without the plastic collar I’m not going to be able to get it back out if the part fails again ! is it a case of simply taking the old collar off and installing it to the new end ? or do I need to get the one with correct end or is there a special tool I would need to get for the one without the collar , someone must have an answer, I’ve seen people disconnect the pipes and swap them over but ideally I’d like to swap the whole unit over , many thanks any info would be appreciated pictures of the ends in question

My advice is order oem from LR.
After market often result in the bite point on the floor and endless fruitless hours attempting to bleed the system.

Bit late to this thread and not sure which Freelander you have either 1.8 or TD4 or V6 BUT

For a 1.8 Sheddist do a nice, not only Bleed able! But also Adjustable pedal height Clutch Master! Bit on the pricey side but after I got a cheap fleabay master my pedal was as @Alibro Said in the floor.

Definitely alot but in my opinion being bleedable too just makes it 10 times better.

You're just in luck! :p

You're just in luck! :p

It looks like a nice bit of kit but a tad expensive.
Might be worth checking with a local LR dealer to see how much oem is. I don't agree with them that oem is poor or on the floor. That's usually Cheaper aftermarket.

Looks good I think this is one of the top options I’m gonna look into this if I decide to do it thank you !!
