I have fitted a new master and still got a low pedal, bled over and over again. Found the pedal is 20mm below foot brake, i cut the carpet away at rear of the pedal and now clutch is better. I have my suspensions that the pedal is bent thus not pushing the master cylinder rod all the way back. I have another pedal assembly that i am going to fit, will report on how i get on but very confident i have sorted it. Kev

Hi, I have written on this before, please search for my thread. The piston in the master cylinder does not go to the bottom when you press the clutch on a TD4 and so air can remain. Removing the carpet is getting it closer to the bottom, but full travel is prevented by the pushrod shape. Best to remove the master, remove the pushrod, compress the piston fully whilst bleeding - air gone !! I have lengthened my push rod by 5mm to solve problem permanently.
