Freelander 1 - cig lighter socket

Hi guys.

am new to all this. Have just bought a Freelander 1. But cigarette light does not work. The 15 amp fuse is ok. Do I need a new lighter or am I missing something ?

The front cig lighter in my old fl1 stopped working too. The wire connecting it came loose, when I was fiddling with it the loose wire shorted and blew the fuse. Luckily, the rear one worked fine. It was too much aggro to get at the back of the cig lighter socket.
