I have been working for months to eradicate leaks on my Freelander 1. Got rid of them all, the last one being the tailgate door seal. People on here say that particular seal never leaks, that is crap, it does, especially in the bottom right hand corner where the seal is flattened by the door. I got a replacement seal, but never used it. I cut the fitted seal high on the right hand side and fed some rubber bungy cord into it which bulked the seal out. Leak gone and door closes just the same. I will post the leaks I sealed with some pics later on.
I must admit I haven't seen many post where it doesn't say check the door seal, LR superceeded the part no. about five times over the years which normally means there's been a modification to the part in question in an attempt to cure the seal leak. My 04 TD4 has never had an issue with water ingress I'm pleased to say even though there's been one more supersession since my chassis no. (although it may have had the latest seal fitted earlier in it's life). The latest part no. for the seal is CKE500032 ONLY £214.32 inc. vat grab yourself a bargin :):):):)
