freelander 1.8 petrol not starting help please?

The problem i have is that last nght went to car unlocking with fob as always car unlocks lights flash i open the door get in put the key into ignition turn the key dash lights (warning lights oil tc hc batt ect) as normal fuel pump runs ,turn the key to start and nothing no click of starter no clock or warning lights they go out as i turn the key!

Then i notice that the red led in the instument consol is flashing as if the car was locked so i locked the car on the fob and then unlocked to try again but the same thing happens no engine start ....

Has anyone had this happen to them and if so could you point me in the right direction of some help? or a way around this problem?

Immobiliser light flashes after about 30 secs, usual suspects

Dust/grime in ignition barrel contacts, spade connector on starter motor, before you start messing with diagnostics

I will check out conections to starter what would you use to clean barrel contacts ? blast air ,contact cleaner ,wd40?

This happened once before 2yrs ago but it fixed its self when i locked and then unlocked car was thinking it may be alarm based issue can the alarm be swiched off easly? not sure how no book for car.

hie l also have a freelander 1.8 and l changed the fuel pump after that the car is not starting. The engine is turning and you can hear the pump runing. Wht may be the problem
