Hi, can anyone help me with my Freelander 1.8 k series.
I have trouble starting it ignition just keeps clicking for about 3 to 5 mins.
I have changed starter motor and battery but still has trouble staring first time. I have recently replaced the engine with a recon one after the old engine blew head-gasket.
The same trouble with ignition has not gone away.
please help
thanks:doh:

Clean cables inc earth, ignition switch/relay or if it does it first thing and fine rest of day take battery filller cap off and get assistant to crank and watch for gas bubbles. Could be a cell down

coil pack should have no effect on starter.

earth can be checked jump lead from batt - to clean large lump of engine (lifting eye perhaps).

Switch issues can be checked by starter small soiliniod terminal to batt +

starter terminal must be clean and nipped tight to batt cable terminal

HI, can anyone help me my freelander s-wagon 1.8 wont start at all by ignition.
towed start no problem but turn engine off and she wont start again just a clicking sound.
Its doing my f******! head in .many thanx

so either the small wire has disconnected from the starter, or you having earthing problems, ie clean all leads again, check battery is producing proper volts, and check contacts on ign. switch.
