Freeeezing....

Went out to the land rover this morning and thought to me self better check the cooling system before I attempt to start it...

I poked my finger down into the rad and yep its solid, only put anti freez in it 2 days ago, a good dose to.

The water pump is also solid......

Once it has all melted... will the ice have done any damage?

The land rover is in a garrage so it must have been cold...

what there just water in there previously ?

Nope, there has always been water and Anti Freez maybe only a small ammount though.

I have been out in it since I put the antifreez in so it has had a good chance to mix in.

needs to be at least 50/50 neat this weather

and not 50/50 of water and premixed either

probably not, but have a good look for leaks when it's filled again and up to temp (if you can manage to get it up to temp this weather)

Well when it does get up to temp and if it does leak... I will just add an egg or 2 to the rad

Depends if all the tubes in the core are frozen & if they are seemed tubes or solid tubes.
seemed tubes are more prone to leeking
