What do you not understand about other than the Petrol engines, the P38 IS NOT OBDII compliant? The P38 diesels are NOT OBDII compliant in any way.

Three years ago, I purchased what I believe was an iSoft which plugged into the OBD11. It had limited functionality, but was stolen from the glove box.
I'd like to get something with wide-reaching capabilities. Don't have budget now, but will prioritise getting one ASAP. I guess Santa may miss my grandkids this Christmas Only joking...an orange in the bottom of their Christmas stockings should keep' em happy

For diagnostics covering all systems, Nanocom is hard to beat, or Faultmate if you don't mind lugging a laptop around with you and have deep pockets, nothing else comes close IMO. Both from Blackbox Solutions.
For just the EAS, the free RSW software is good, I like it better than other stuff, but again it needs a laptop.
I have Faultmate but use the free EAS software for the EAS.
Someone on here was selling a Nanocom recently.
I saw the nanocom was going to be available within the last week or so, but didn't have funds.
Urgency has just ramped up exponentially, as EAS acting up and I can't start the P38 after inadvertently draining the battery. Won't jump start and I see that the orange engine light is illuminated...I'm sure it doesn't normally glow

The EAS software is free, I can supply it on CD along with a cable for a modest sum.
It maybe that the BECM/EDC have lost sync, they do not like flat batteries of being jumped which has to be done by the book.

Thanks. but I've already got the EAS software on a laptop... unfortunately it's on loan to a family member light years away...well the other side of the Penines! It won't run on my Apple MacBook air, but I'll load it onto to an old company laptop if I can find my USB-serial adapter...
Can't believe I let the better go so low!
What's the correct way to jump start please? I've had to leave the P38 overnight at a company's site that I was visiting.

Usual way.

Your profile says you're in Beverly. Does she know? Apparently Beverly means the place near the beaver stream. How about that?

Haha!
Don't know of the "beaver" stream-nudge, nudge, ...but the River Hull is exceedingly moist at the minute. Currently about 2-4' above the usual level. Now...Where's that beaver in Beverley...

It's in RAVE and the owners manual, negative to the engine, not the battery.
