found a TD5 today...

Been looking for a new Disco sinc the con rod went through the side of my 300tdi and think I may have found one.
Its a '99 on a T plate but has 150,000 on the clock. It has had 1 owner since new and seems to have been looked after well, there is no somke from th exhaust on starting or revving and seems dry inside! The body work looks good and no reust under the wings or the sills. The guy wants £3k for it.
Does this seem reasonable and is there anything else I should considerr before parting with the cash? (Was going to offer £2800)

i payed 3,250 for my td5 in october that had 110,000 on the clock (but had a leak on the ACE that turnd out to only need 2 new copper washers) the realy cheep td5 are getting less

before you buy have a good look and smell of the engine oil if there is any smell of diesel walk away or you could get a bill for £1000-1500 and if you do buy it job number 1 is to drop the sump and put some lock tight on the oil pump bolt common problem on early td5s another £1000+ bill

If you offer 28 you will probably settle at 29. Why not offer 25 and see if you can settle for 28 or less?

OK so it has no rust, check everything electric or electronic..........thoroughly!!
