Forte diesel treatment

hi,

i done a search on here and read alot about diesel treatments.

im about to buy some fortes diesel treatment as it seems to get the best outcomes.

my concern is as it loosens up debris etc will it clogg up the fuel filter, or does it dissolve it completly, i didnt want to put a brand new filter in only to find this treatment cloggs it up.

i spent alot of time searching but couldnt find anything as i didnt want to put repeat posts on here unless anyone has a link please.

As far as I know it dissolves everything.

Certainly I've used it a few times and never had to change filter afterwards.


One thing I will say is put it directly into the filter on the bulkhead then top it with diesel as that gives you the best concentration into the system.

thanks for the info, the only fuel filter ive got is fitted under the rear wheel arch, its a 2002 TD4 3 door auto freelander,

my fuel tank is nearly empty do you think that will be ok or is there another way to put it in please, i certainly like the idea of putting it into the filter , shame there isnt one under the bonnet

I personally use millers. I add it to a full tank of diesel. There have been some reported cases of failure to certain parts after a fuel treatment has been used, in other diesel engines. I haven't experienced any problems at all using it.

I Also prefer Millers as it also has an additive which increases the cetane rating.

When I started using the millers I had just changed my filter. Performance initially improved greatly then reverted back for about 3k miles before coming back. I assumed that the millers was dissolving the varnish/build up in the tank & some of it was partially clogging the filter till it finally completely dissolved. I've been using the millers for over 2 years continuously with no problems & performance is improved.
