I noticed one of my Defenders wheel nuts was missing yesterday! Don’t know if it’s been stolen or just worked loose. I can’t believe it’s worked loose as others are as tight as. Anyone know where I can get hold of a replacement? These came with a set of Modular’s that are quite old.

The above may not fit those wheels as the nuts look to be of a smaller diameter for socket clearance of the flange cover cap thing. Without cap standard nuts should fit.

I spotted those the other day when looking for stainless steel nuts...

The problem with stainless steel is it's soft (compared to std 8.8 HS nuts and very soft relative to 10.9 HS nuts).
There are several versions of stainless, some are harder than others but the one that approaches the hardness of 8.8 steel (A4-80) is difficult to cut. I asked Wrington what alloy they made thier nuts from and was told "it's not an alloy it's stainless steel" so I gave them a swerve.

Would you use Brass wheel nuts ?
IMO you should use a high tensile strength steel in critical locations (like holding your wheels on or your prop shafts) I'd suggest grade 10 (10.9) or 12.9 ...

Yep, I appreciate that stainless steel is less strong when compared to HS steel, by maybe 50% depending on which blend (I ended up going for 316 from another supplier), but it's still many times stronger than it needs to be for the application.

However, the nuts from that supplier that look like the ones that the OP have are not stainless, as far as I can see.
