It may seem harsh. A little trial of fire to see what you're made of. But.
If it's the right stuff you'll stick around and maybe help others.
If it means we lose a few sensitive souls it is indeed sad but I believe it does also weed out the odd sociopath (we have had a few) and that I think makes up for it hugely

tbh I really don't get the whoohar and the big deal about introducing, fine if someone wants to but really some of you guys take way too far why do you really care? it's all a it childish really.

I just think it's a little rude.
Having said that I did have a chap pull up on my driveway with deisel drpping out of his tank ask if I could figure out why it was leaking?
If it hadn't been for his obvious exasperated state of despair I probably wouldn't have been half as helpful
