me alternator has packed up DOH, got a noo one coming at work tomorow, the standard one is a 34A the one i have coming is a 70A in a standard case......... so that should take care of the extra drain from the extra battery i plan to fit (which battery) and me spot lights (i think they are what killed thwe old alternator)

you might want to uprate the thick cable from the alteenator to the battery (often via the starter).
If you don't want to rip the old one out, just add another, of the same size, in parallel with it.

Not sure what the wiring is like on your series....but with my old wiring the main power for the alternator went all round the shop and via terminals etc - best way is straight to the battery.

70A is pretty good. I got an 80A from a scrap yard from a Range Rover - fits perfectly with no modifications (standard belt fits too)

i coulda had a 100A for a bit more dosh but i plan to replace the engine with a 200Di (TDi - turbo) so i didn't fancy spending the extra

done it now, all fitted and working mulered one of the terminals taking it off so i am gonna replace it tomorow cause i just fitted the new alternator when me lead light slipped and the bulb popped, doh, i have no spare bulbs for me lead light here oh well ............
