hey there! i have a question, i saw the follow me home option on my cars option list, i have the l322 2009 tdv8, i want to know if this a feature that works automatic, so turn of the ignition and it stays on for a moment, or do you need to flash the lights for them to stay on? since thats what i do now. but is there a way to do this automatic?

not sure it works on your car, but have you tried pressing the light icon on the key fob?
On the later models you set it through the dash iirc.
Cheers

Hi, just to say that my 2005 L322 fitted with Auto Lights is as you describe, when you turn off the ignition flash the indicator stalk to turn on “follow me home lights”. On vehicles without Auto Lights it is an automatic function when the ignition is turned off while light switch is still in the on position. However, your 2009 my be different so advise reading the handbook if you have one.
Tricky :)

Are we perchance talking about the headlamp delay feature? On my old '95 model if you turn off the engine and then the lights then the headlights stay on for 30 seconds, I think. They don't track or follow my movement though, home or anywhere else for that matter. On my old Jag the same feature has a variable delay set by a dial next tp the headlamp switch.

It’s all the same thing, just a different name. Mrs Tricky has it on her Citroen and you simply turn it on or off via the media menu. If it’s on then every time the headlights are on when the ignition is turned off the headlights stay on for a selected number of seconds. Why Land Rover have to make it different for each manufacturing year I don’t know. Perhaps it’s due to “product development” but the Citroen I refer to is 2005 as is my Range. If only life were so simple lol.
Tricky. :)

Just looked in my 2005 handbook and it’s called “Headlamp Courtesy Delay”. What the hell kind of description is that anyway.
I think “Headlamp Delay” would be fine, that way there would no looking over the shoulder for stalkers etc.
Tricky. :p

Just tried flashing the indicator stalk and it does indeed light up the house opposite for 30 seconds as I reverse onto my drive :D

I have a torch. Does that count?
