Hi Guys/Gals....Hope you are all enjoying the holiday and have not been getting your hands too dirty

I have a minor but niggly problem that has been there since getting my '02 TD4, ES last December.
The door mirrors are of the folding type and usually fold and return ok when the switch is operated, however there is the odd occaision where they will fold in but not return when operating the switch. I replaced the switch a few months ago but recently it has starting to have a mind of it's own and today I must have operated the switch for at least five minutes before they decided to unfold. The operation when they do work is smooth and not jerky-they return to the full open position without the need to adjust the glass position.
Has anyone else had this problem and can throw any light on a possible fix ??

Mine does this occasionally. Things can get gunked up this time of year, my Disco tailgate handle comes to mind. Try a blast of WD 40, it could be as simple as that.

it could not be the mirrors themselves it could be a relay

MHM.....:mooning::D....I did do a search, including the links you posted but they relate to a different problem to mine !!!

Yes, the symptoms are similar to either a switch or relay working intermittently. I have removed the switch which is less than 12 months old and checked it out with a multimeter whilst repeatedly operating the fold mode-it is switching every time. If there is an electronic control unit or relay, does anyone know where it is located ?
As originally posted, both mirrors are affected but when they do fold/unfold, the action is smooth.

I wonder if LR stealers are doing any 70% off or buy one-get one free sales....Like DFS or B&Q ??????
