Flux price rises year on year, whilst all my others fall?

Our 101 is with flux. Has been for a while. It's not a vehicals that you can do simple compare the market online stuff for.

Our 300tdi disco is with another company.

Every single year, without fail, flux puts up my premium, and every single year, without fail, the disco gets cheaper to insure.

A few years back flux blamed it on some insurance premium tax rise. At this point I actually bothered to look it up and there was no way that the tax plus inflation added up to what they said.

This year it's Ogden tables or somthing. But somehow the disco insurance continues to fall???

Two things - I've kind of lost respect for a company that, I feel, is just taking me for a ride. The price hike this year is 15%, whilst the disco just got requoted at 10% cheaper. (This isn't a 1off, it's an ongoing trend)

I feel like, esp from the claims of the tax hike, which did not add up, that the comments from flux are borderline dishonest! And probably the wrong side of the border too.

Does anyone else get this? I know a lot here are insured with flux.

Second - I'm looking for recommendations for 101 insurance. Mine is an ambi with a new engine (modification) and a bed and stuff. It's just gone tax exempt, so I would imagine that opens up additional policies for me, on classic schemes, but I'm not sure if the mods will prohibit this? It's still well within the DVLA points for classic / heritage status, as it's only the engine.

Thank you.

Thank you - ill call them if the flux rep cant sort out something more respectful.

Any other suggestions anyone? Surprised there isnt a go-compare thing aimed at unusual vehicles - market opportunity for someone! : )

Lancaster

Footman James

They both do classic type policies and weird stuff, neither had an issue with my engine swap and both cheaper than flux. Mine is a 90 though not a 101

I went with Lancaster this year as flux shot up massively with mine
I cant do any compare sites
they did a special deal on what add ons I wanted and did it on limited mileage
ive had my licence for a fair few years too and just find insurance is getting silly
flux wouldn't move on their prices

It takes the **** really - over the years they've had 1000s off me, and i've never once made a single claim with them.

If they said something like "That's the best we can do" that would be a little more respectful than trying to justify their constant hikes with nonsense that, when you look into it, just does not add up.

No one likes (feeling like they're) being lied to, esp by someone who has had stacks of cash off them.

One of the facebook overland forums has come up with a long list of possible candidates too, so i guess ill just have to work through all of them. Its irritating as if flux had have just quoted me the same as last year, id have just paid it (even though my other premiums continue to fall!), but their dicking about is likely to cost me time, and them trade (as, going by what other people say their paying, its not as if ive got a rock bottom price anyway)
