Currently waiting on a phone call back, as I've sold my 300tdi challenge truck I wanted to swap the insurance onto my 200tdi challenge truck, built with all the bits off my 300, I was told at the time of taking out the policy that it was simple and would incur a £25 admin charger I explained the car was up for sale and this was in the pipeline, I said ok, called up today and they now want another £300 nearly to change it?...

I've messaged Jorden on here but not had a response yet, and if I cancel it they are charging me nearly £300 for 5 weeks insurance,

What is it today? £300 day?

Hi Stephen,

I'm on this, just checking out what has gone on and we'll listen to the telephone call if need be to check what you were told.

It will be sorted ASAP - I've also sent you a PM.

Regards
Jordan

Apparently they have lissened to the phone call and They have said that I was never told I could change it over, and when I asked to listen to the call they want to charge me £15 to play me It.

They have adjusted the premium to pay but it's still not right, or what I was told.

We have a forum member that understands things? But I was call by someone else as Jorden isn't phone based.

I would advise people to think twice and use a smaller broker like brentacher who my van is with and you speak to the same person everytime.

If changing the insurance over he been as hassle free as I was told then I would of got a quote to insure my mk2 escort with them today,

It's not just me tho, my wife ha been with them for years and renewed recently again and now there wanting utility bills as if as her driving licence isn't good enough apparently.

Advice for anyone calling them is record your phone call.

After nearly an hour in total on the phone we have gone round and round the only reason they can give me is I've only owned this landrover for 4 months, the fact I've owned 3 different defender 90 tdi,s since 2010 counts for nothing, they have all been tdi's this ones even the same colour (blue) and all the suspention winches lockers where taken off my old one.

Hi,

As you have mentioned, the call was listened to by one of our Customer Service managers who confirmed what was said. We do offer to post a CD copy of the call out but yes there is a £15 charge for this.

What you were advised was that our fee for making amendments is £25, this is in our FCA regulated legal script that we read to every client that ever takes a policy out with us, there of course may be additional premiums dependant on what vehicle you change to.

You are quite right in saying you have myself on hand to assist and no I am not personally telephone based as I am not fully trained in every department (New sales, Renewals, Customer Service, Agreed Valuations, Motorcycles, Household) as this would be quite literally years worth of training. I am however here as a fellow enthusiast with a number of years of experience in the insurance industry as well as a broad knowledge and personal keen interest in cars (I am actually a qualified mechanic too!) so I deal with most things myself, however the relevant team will always contact you by telephone as they are the ones with a wealth of knowledge in that particular area and that can make the changes needed.

On this occasion we have referred it to a senior underwriter in order to try and provide the most competitive premium possible, I can only apologise if you are unhappy with the service received but both myself and my colleagues have done everything possible to help.

Kind regards,
Jordan

I can understand a change in premium if I was changing to a r33 gtr or an m3 from my defender, but the fact I've owned 3 since 2010 and that's without breaks, the fact I've only owned this 1 for 4 months is an excuse to charge someone some more hard earned readys,

If I was changing from a disco to a fender I could understand a increase,

I don't want a copy on cd I just wanted to listen to it, both call which she dint say she had done, the original and then when I called to take the policy out.

Its even got 90% of the bits off my old 90 and it's the same colour, at the same address I've lived at for years.

I could accept If I was changing from a standard 90 to a modified one or to a td5 or a tdci, of still a tdi and the same colour and if anything is worth less money

I'll sell you a box of 50 CD's for a tenner.
Vote with your feet.
I for one after reading the various horror stories would never contemplate using AF
