Do the head lights come on with the ignition ?
If they are automatic it could be that there is a relay that switches the lights off to reduce the drain on the battery during cranking.

Definitely don't have them on automatic. It's like disco (led)lights flashing at front

Did you get to he bottom of this?
Also why have the headlights on when you try to start the motor, most folks would turn them on after the engine starts
unless you stall it and need to get going in a hurry.
