I have just fitted (but not yet tested) a recon power steering box on my 200tdi but after draining the fluid reservoir I noticed small metal flakes at the bottom.
looking at the leaflet that came with the steering box it notes to replace the pump if metal flakes are found.
would it likely to cause the seals to go in the recon box if I didnt replace the pump? - could i just flush the system and put the flakes down to years of ware rather than a deteriorating pump
any ideas??
