Hello folks. I aquired a 1999 Rover L series equipped hardback over winter and am just getting into the new car honeymoon money spending phase.lol:rolleyes:

As a diehard tinkerer, man and boy, I have looked into the car and its powerplant a bit and as a result i'm keenly awaiting the arrival of a service kit, decat pipe and roverron Synergy vp tuning box.

As I said before, i have inherited the car by chance and am now getting to really like it (awaits the abuse from regular members...:eek:)

It has it's faults, '3 amegos', wooly handling, flat engine and no CD player but it does seem to have an innocent charm to it and its relatively handsome with the hardtop, 'desert storm' metalic paitwork and roofrails.

I have had a 'chance' but pleasent introduction to the 4 x 4 scene and this hot hatch/fast saloon/ jap jurbo enthusiast is now driving an offroader!

Anyway - my questions;

  1. Becuase of the 'flat' engine I have ordered the synergy vp and decat wich i think will reduce the flatspots and hesitation. Would it be wise to turn up the boost by shortening the actuator rod or would i be asking for trouble? (53k miles/ FSH)
  2. Can anyone direct me to a decent 'how to' for blanking the egr on a L series Freelander? I'm sure this has been covered 1000's of times on here but i'm struggling with the 1.8/2.0Di/TD4 thing at the moment? :confused:
Thanks for your help,

Feel free to flame:p

Andy
