Hi all
I did post a query a while back re a split in my drivers seat leather.
My FL is not yet 2 years old and has just been in for 2nd 30K service.
My dealer says its not covered by warranty, have done a bit of research and only managed to find this, its virtually identical to my split. Freel2.com - View topic - Seat Split :(
Has anyone any experience of this issue and an idea of what a SSM is ?
Thank you.

A SSM is an acknowledgment from Land Rover to dealers that its engineeers are aware of a possible problem with the car and are working on a permanent solution. In this case they think they may found it but they need more verification and feedback from dealers before issuing an official Technical Service Bulletin. Therefore, the fixes suggested within the SSM may or may not be final, the message may be withdrawn or modified tomorrow, and until an actual TSB is issued the dealer is not obligated to comply as the parts they need may not even be available yet.

Keep at the dealer and Land Rover if necessary - 2 years old is unacceptable for this sort of wear I would say.

a split is not wear and tear, esp on a 2 year old car. We had a similar problem with the fabric drivers seat in my wifes vauxhall after about 18 months, they fixed no problems, all covered under warranty.

maybe worth contacting land rover customer service
