Hi All, after asking so many q's and getting so much useful info from you all I'm pleased to offer some help of my own..

having had an annoying ' Alarm fault' since i got the car.. i eventually got around to looking at it this weekend...
the alarm seamed to function ok.. but had the annoying bleep when i put the key in, and the error message.. having no fault reader.. i've checked the obvious for faults..

anyhow.. decided it 'might' be the ultrasonics.. so rather than looking for anything 2nd hand.. i took the plunge, spent £5 on ebay on a pair of new sensors.. 1 min with a soldering iron.. and hey presto..
fault cleared.. !!!

hope this maybe helps someone else...

There is no alarm sensor in the dashboard, if you're on about the thing next to the flashing red light that's a sensor to detect the level of the sun to adjust the fan speed for the air conditioning.

It's located on the roof on the passenger side, roughly where the b pillar is.

Search on ebay for range rover p38 ultrasonic and you'll find it.

Hi Brian, yeah.. the sensor just unclips from the roof... then inside the back of the unit unclips to reveal the circuit board.
you need to remove the whole thing from the casing...(gently tease the ultrasonic modules from their holes.. they are housed in a rubber grommet)..
when you get the replacements they are labeled.. obviously one is send and the other receive..
so make sure you replace the correct one with the correct replacement, and of course the pins to the correct wires....
it was pretty simple to work out when you looked at the back of the old ones and the new ones....

any more questions feel free to ask... sorry i didnt take any pics.. but it is very straight fwd

Does that mean a re-sync fixed it?
