Disco 2 Fitting VDO Gauges

Has anyone ever installed VDO Gauges at all
Need to know where to connect light live cable. Was thinking tap of side light wire. Power for gauges from radio supply. Unless someone knows better please

I fit oil temp, oil pressure, voltmeter and water temp. Tapped into ignition feed for switched live and existing dash lighting circuit for illumination- no problems experienced over last 2 years

On the Disco, you should find that the wiring for the dash illumination is coloured RED/BROWN. You should be able to find some of that colour around the internal fuseboard under the steering wheel to tap into.

When I was setting up a connection to the cigarette lighter wiring, rather than start cutting wires I found some piggy back fuseholders were quite useful:-

Similar fuseholders are also available for standard sized blade fuses.

Ground wiring is usually colour-coded BLACK.
