What a nightmare this is. 109, My chassis as it turns out is Military, with the 2 holes where springs bolt on. so been ordering parts for standard 109, but been told that I need 1 ton shocks, shackles ect as it is 2 inches higher,
It did have the standard shocks on before I striped it on front with springs in top hole. none on the rear.
Tried shocks with spring on bottom hole but way out, so put spring in top hole and just about there but not quite. I have all standard shackles on with the origional springs I took off so cant see why shocks wont fit back on from top hole.
What the hells going on , got my head done in again  do I need to fit the 1 ton shocks.
using old shocks for pics but same size as new ones.

I had the same problem, my standard shocks needed some persuasion to go on.
I had GB parabolics and GB say that that is what is used on my standard height 109.
I am assuming that once the engine and body are on it will be fine. You could put a jack under the spring and a chain over the top of the chassis and around the bottom of the jack and pump? This will compress the spring and allow you to get the shocks on?
The top hole and standard springs/shackles even on a military chassis should be the same as standard I think?

Thanks Mate, the engine and box are on, but nothing else, only about half inch in it. Have not moved the rears up to top hole yet.

Mine was like that with no engine and gearbox, are you on standard springs?
I would have hoped that you would have enough weight on by now?
The mounting points don't look any lower down than mine though.

I got mine on by taking out the rear shackle, putting n the shock and then levering the spring down with a long lever until I could put the shackle bolt back in.
In saying that there was not that much in it to extend.
