Fitting new suspension and have a lean

in the process of fitting new suspension all around to a friends td5 90.
Have just completed the rear with hd springs and boge shocks and new spring seats. About to start the front now but noticed there is a significant lean to the drivers side. The drivers side sits about 1.5” lower than the passenger (measured crudely at wheel arch). But it is also very noticeable when looking at the rear crossmember from the back.
Have double and triple checked the spring colours are the right way around. We have fitted:

Driver rear: green yellow red
Passenger rear: green yellow white

Does any one have any ideas?

Only to turn it around before we do the fronts. So not properly. Will go for a drive ones the fronts are in and see if it makes a differance.

Not the best idea to use the wheel arches to measure too, especially if it's an older vehicle, much better to measure to the chassis somewhere, even the crossmember!

I'd also fit all the springs before I even looked at level ...

If it's still not level I'd then check that the shocks are free to move, I had a bent shock piston once that had stiction 'occasionally' .. was a pain to track that down! Further then check spring mounts, 'packers' left in or height differences between spring mounts on the axle and on the chassis.

Well have now fitted all of the springs and shocks and there is a very definite sag to the drives rear. It may be a bad spring as they tears were bought as a pair of new take off and the fronts actually new. All of the shocks were free to move as “primed” them before fitting. Have checked the spring mounts and they all seem fine. This is also more of a diferance than could be taken up with packer plates.

All measurements axle to chassis at bump stop.

Quite possible. Just fitted the old spring as there was about 20mm before the bumpstop and most of the lean is gone. So an actually new set of rear springs has now been ordered. At least they are easier to swap over than the fronts!
