Hi All
I have recently purchased a late model TDCi 90 station wagon. It has no frills, including no radio. I would like to fit an original LR radio and speakers as I want to keep it all original and believe that the radio and speakers are just plug-in on the wiring harness.
There are new LR radios with codes, taken out of Defenders, available on E.. (youknowwhere). I'm looking for some advice on doing this.
Thanks in advance
David

I have an LR radio and front speakers from an 04 TD5 XS if you want them? As far as I know should plug straight in and work, got all the original paperwork too.

Thanks for the offer Bankz
I will hold out for a newer one.
Regards
David

You know they are all near enough the same right? Just slightly different depending on what spec, XS TDCis came with Alpine headunits I believe.

Very minor differences, the speakers are the same as well, unless TDCi XS Spec.

Heck of a long shot but do you still have that 2004 Td5 radio ?. what I am looking for is the cage really as mine wont fit a standard universal cage. I need the original LR cage for the radio cassette. ?

Can't understand why mine won't fit a standard single din cage.
Recently replaced the standard land rover item in my tdci. It does not have a cage, it fits exactly into the aperture in the fascia. The Alpine head unit I replaced it with uses the 1din cage it came with to fit the same aperture. I assume the td5 will be the same?

Now why the heck didn't I think of that !! I will check that out later today and see how it looks. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes !! Wimblowdriver I owe you a pint mate. I thought it was a bit loose until I discovered that the fixing clips on the radio actually screwed right in and drew the radio into the face of the surround. It fits, its tight and everything works great, Radio, Tape Player and best of all the Multi CD player that I bought for 40 quid is a gem. I am grateful for the welcome given to me on here and for the advice and help freely given. Thanks Guys and Gals it's great to be driving a LandRover again.
