I'm looking to fit an oil pressure gauge to my 3.5 V8. Do I have to put in a T-piece to use the port the pressure switch is in at the moment or can I use one of the other ports on the filter housing?
There isn't much clearance between the filter housing and the steering box, so I'm hoping one of the other ports also tap into the outlet side from the filter. Here is a piccie:

Can I fit a sender to the port indicated?

Usually the T piece is screwed into the block where the oil pressure light switch is - the light switch is then screwed into the end of the T piece and the sender is screwed into the side of the T piece - thats how i fitted mine on my 300tdi ;)

Thanks Daz, but the problem is there is not enough clearance between the filter housing and the steering box on a V8 90 to put a t-piece in where the pressure light switch is. I was therefore hoping to use the other port?

Yeh, I've thought about those, but it would be cheaper and easier if one of the other ports was useable on the pump housing
