Fitting a 12s socket and wiring Freelander 1?

Is there a guide for wiring a 12 S socket to my old (W reg) Freelander, I was going to get a real landy part complete with the socket that clips into the wiring loom but it's nearly £140.

I can get a split charge relay and the socket for under £20 from Towsure ......

Any idea were the socket on the wiring loom is physically located?

Any help much appreciated.

they are located on drivers side "offside" in the boot behind the panel

If your going to wire it yourself both male and female parts of the socket are attached to the loom. One looks like a blank but is infact the socket you just need the contacts.

Factory system picks up power for the 12s from the engine bay - look at fitting instructions on TOPIx for more idea.

Thanks I got the topix doc, my main worry is that I'll upset some thing in the fancy electronics and that it will either complain ( warning lights) or die.

should it be Ok at least in theory?

Same mistake in my post, sorry.

Hi as long as you take feeds from same place as factory install then you will be fine
