So from that I can now ascertain that she has a working convoy light! :)

Now, given that is totally pointless on a civvie Land Rover it can stay for a bit to no doubt impress aficionados of military Land Rovers and we'll think about keeping or ditching it later.

Don't forget some extra security  - it's fecking annoying but the sticky fingered sh*tbags seem to like adding legs to trattors :mad::mad:

There's a good thread on here about trackers ;)

And consider agreed value insurance too - well worth it on a vehicle which is appreciating :)

That's great advice, thanks. I was starting to wonder about security given there isn't any. Whatsoever. It will be okay at home as its in a locked garage in a locked drive and you would have to be brave to try and start it "stealthily" lol but leaving it anywhere currently would be tempting fate. That feels like priority no.1 after I've got it running right.

Any advice on where to go to get insurance?

Thanks again, Tim

Welcome to the mad world of Landy ownership ;)
That looks nice, something to work on. As above, MoD are basic but generally looked after.
Probably a good thing it's not an 1985 model....

haha, thanks it won't sink in until I can drive it properly but it looks good sat in my garage for now.

And... what would I do without the '86 spec convoy light?! o_O Its definitely been looked after from what I can see, if you don't count driving into hard obstacles on an obviously regular basis given the state of the wings!! All in good time.

Have a read through the posts int Stolen section to get a feel for the methods of nicking then. Not unknown to winch something onto a recovery truck at 2pm in the afternoon int full view and drive away as if it were normal.

Good to see another military Landy being enjoyed. Military ones certainly have a good rep for being solid unless they’ve been dipped in the sea. The na should be easy to get going again depending on the fault, fairly basic engine. Many tdi’d ones out there too.

Well, you don't get much more legit than finding a spent rifle cartridge in the glovebox! :):)

Looks like the 2.5 NA that's in there is serviceable after all, which gives me time to fix up the 200TDi properly. Happy days.
