Friends who know more about Land Rover products than I do, suggest I've bought a hobby rather than a car, but frankly my dear, etc etc!

Really loving my first couple of weeks of downsizing (heh!) to a '96 4.6 V8 HSE. Loving not worrying about kerbs and alloys, loving running over potholes with impunity, loving the seating position and looking over rather than around traffic and HOPING for snow!

Actually my mates may have a point about the hobby thing, but that's fun too, right? I now have a snagging list - door handles, no cruise control, brakes and discs which need overhauling, a lot of ACF50 for the underside of the car....

... but at only 86K miles, with about 14 service stamps, the engine is a thing of pure beauty. LOVE the V8. It is just SO smooth... Had pondered the lpg question, but honestly, I might just take the hit on the fuel and smile between fill-ups!

Lesson from this? Always listen to your inner 8 year old.

(And keep working to fund it!)
