Hi All,

First post of many I hope. Great to have this forum to turn too.

I've a first purchase dilemma.

Here's the details

DEFENDER 110 LWB DIESEL - County Station Wagon TDCi [2.2]
Year: 2011
Transmission:Manual
Engine Size:2200
First Registered:30/11/2011

It's in great nick, 16000 on the clock, very little rust, no modifications from new. The seller wants a big figure for it. He say's he has an offer of £30K....we buy any car says £5K. I know that's a nonsense, but what is the going rate ? whats a sensible offer given the current climate and appetite for defenders. I'd appreciate any help from those experienced in pricing / buying etc

Thanks

Richard

Welcome to the zoo toolbag of information. Worth having a look at parker.co.uk for pricing. 2011 is only ten years ago so they would still command a fair price. But not exorbitant amount.

Welcome:).

Tell him to take the offer, walk away and look around simples:D

Plenty of fish in the sea Sorry, there are lots of good 1s for sale that haven't been in the sea:confused:.

Hi and welcome!

The likes of autotrader, LRO classifieds and eBay classifieds will give you a good idea of value. Ignore the car buying companies, they’re usually wrong when it comes to landies!

When you do get one, invest in lots of decent security measures too. Tdci station wagons in particular are very popular with thieves.

You could get two low mileage end of production 2014 top spec Freelander 2's for 30k sovs and still have change left over for insurance and chips on the way home. 30k sovs for a 10 year old tratter that's far too easily stolen is a lot to pay for a biscuit tin on wheels.
