First Land Rover

Hi All,

I have just said yes to buying a '53 plate LR Disco II Commercial. I've not picked it up yet but have been to have a look. It drives OK, is in very good condition and I hope to pick it up next week. I've done lots of research but any advice from you would be welcome. What should I look out for when using it for the first time? I'll be using it for work every day, so any other tips advice would be great. Thanks. (Also new to forums too!!)

Best thing to look out for on your first drive is...ALL the wheels are round..

Check rusty rear chassis - no warning lights on dash (especially 3 amigos). Check the rotoflex coupling (rubber donut) on the rear of the rear prop - once they start wearing out, it can be the source of vibration. Easy fix. Check the obvious electrical items all work as they're supposed to - lights etc.
