Hi all,
I was out with richiedisco this morning greenlaning for the first time and thouroughly enjoyed myself. Im amazed at what these vehicles can do. We got ordanance survey maps but some lanes are very heavily rutted, deeper than the landrover wheel, any tips on getting through these or is it just a case of flooring it and hoping for the best?

Anyone wanting to join me and richiesdisco greenlaning for a change of scenery is more than welcome, maybe you can teach us a thing or two.

Cheers all

Paul

i'd be up for it. i'm in middlesex. i'm no expert but kno a few things, wud be good to get some more experience but lanes r no existant my way

where are you based?

keep a constant speed and keep revs relatively high. if you hit a sticky spot, last thing you want is to stall. also watch out for pointy rocks in the centre path as these will rip the thin diff casing... get some QT diff guards ;)

you could also get mammoth wheels which would raise your axle height and you need worry no more ;)

i know everyone says it but carry a strong strap and towing gear, rear and front towing points, shovel and something to cut away branches that can stop u 4 miles into a lane that u cant turn around on. i learnt the hard way. more than once.

that happened today and richiedisco had to tackle it with a tow rope and brute force.
