Anyone in or around Colchester, Essex, I thoroughly recommend JSF 4x4 in Manningtree. They have really helped me out many times, even staying open late one weekend to source me a trailing arm for my disco 1. Always ready to give good advice, too.

Today, they pulled out all the stops to sort my tow bar electrics on my FL2. I had a long journey planned and only found out when I plugged the trailer in that my electrics were not working. Even though they we’re extremely busy, (initially said next Thursday was the earliest they could fit me in), they sourced genuine Land Rover electrics and fitted them for me today so I could still do my journey. You can’t get better service than that.

Can't remember the name, but being in Manningtree it's likely to be the same outfit that carried out a lot of engine work on my 3.9 RRC back in 2002 ... in which case I can add my recommendation.
Good to know they have survived the effects of the past 18 months turmoil.

When you find a good reliable honest mechanic/garage, ply them with love, biscuits, and respect!
By respect, i give an example...
The biggest thing that my cousin(mechanic) says winds him up is when customers beg for 'next hour' service because of [insert excuse here], he then puts himself out, pushes back other customer's work and then sits in the office waiting for the person to come and collect the car that they are DESPERATE FOR and then gets a phone call saying they'll pick it up tomorrow...
