Hi, I have tried once and failed once at removing the FINISHER-BACKLIGHT UPPER piece of trim. I have a second chance of removing one hopefully without snapping it this time.

Just wondering if anyone knows exactly how you get it of in one piece ? Looked on the net but can’t find and instructions.

Cheers all

Dude, I see from your profile picture that your hippo is a five door, while my hippo is a 3 door, so I cannot help you specifically, and I cannot envisage what that piece of trim is. However, since you've alluded to removing one before and breaking it, did you take that as an opportunity to see where the trim piece was held, like where the clips were? If you haven't already got some, I highly recommend you spunk a few quid on some trim removal tools, I'll post a link to a set of tools on eBay that for around £15 will get you into everything you can imagine.

Those two kits will give you about the same as I have, and armed with them you can spring off interior panels like one of the car stealing secnes out of gone in 60 seconds.

Also, see that prybar thats been bent back onitself to like 230°? Well its a godsend for finding where the clips are as you can snake it under the trim peice, and grope about, slide it along the panel, then gently try and pry back on it. If the panel flexes you know you are not near a clip, if it goes tight without visible bulging of the panel, you are near the clip, so use the bent bar to create a channel to slide in one of the less angled bars and try to get one of them under the clip then pry back on it hopefully springing the panel off that mounting point, move on to finding the next clip.
