For years the ABS light has been coming on intermittently giving me raised blood pressure at each 6 monthly WOF (same as MOT). Will or won't it pass!
I've tried to fix it quite a few times, the errors always being left hand front air gap, or more recently left sensor open circuit. I swapped the front sensors and this fixed it for a while and then I started getting the same lhf errors again. WTF. So I pulled out the lhf sensor (that was on the right) and it could be made to go open circuit by flexing the wire near the sensor end. Once replaced everything is now working fine.
The point is, the error has always been on the left but it was the right hand sensor that was faulty, it must be that abs computer always defaults to reporting left faults when it could be either side?
