sadly or gladly, the 2 2CV jungle drivers made it with a noisey gearbox, while you just made I larf..

Well I've now done about 600 miles or so keeping it topped up with ten litres of diesel and ten litres of oil in rotation. Figure 600 miles is about a tank full so will now run it down to about a quarter tank and then refill. Is my thinking on that ok?

As an aside, I'll probably keep running it on about 30% veg oil all the time as it seems to make for a smoother engine, and smell nicer
